Puppy Training
♫ March 17th, 2010 5:33 pmThe most important thing to remember when it comes to training your Jack Russell puppy is play time and much exercise. This dog breed is great for those who are very active themselves and have the time to play with their puppy a couple hours out of each day. The Jack Russell loves to be challenged and to be the center of attention.
The puppy needs to know who is in charge in the house or they will try to run it themselves. Your puppy may try to challenge you and rebel if you don’t put your foot down. During the puppy training process, you need to be stern and really mean what you say. Using a high pitch voice when they are in trouble is not the way to get through to them… you need to lower your voice.
These dogs can be known to snip out of excitement or aggression. You need to be able to tell the difference and scold them when they snap aggressivly. This is a very bad habbit they can carry on through their later years if it’s not worked with at a young age.
Jack Russell’s are small and adorable but don’t let that fool you, they can be quite the handful especially if you aren’t prepared for it.
